If you have a judgment in your favor against someone, it has to be renewed in order to remain valid. The old law required judgments to be renewed every 5 years. The law recently changed (October 1, 2018) that judgments after that date must be renewed every 10 years.
If you qualify, you can ask the Courts for a waiver or deferral of your Court filing fees. The Superior Court (family law and civil litigation) have forms for this request.
